The Hamlet of
East Line grew up on the border
between the Towns of Ballston and Malta.
It was an important Railroad stop by the 1830's,
and East Line Road developed as
a main North/South turnpike.

People have been gathering
on this site for many
hundreds of years.
The Iroquois Nation gathered
here seasonally
to hunt and to celebrate festivals.
The first pioneers cleared
the forests and planted the fields
in pre-revolutionary times.
